7-building complex which was designed by Archibald M. Manning as supervising architect with W. R. Amon, Richard W. Buckley, Frank J. Forster, Charles F. Fuller, Horace Ginsbern and John L. Wilson, Jr who was one of the first Black practitioners in New York. It was the first federally-financed housing project, built by the Federal Public Works Administration. Landscaping was planned by Michael Rapuano. Splendid sculpture was executed by Heinz Warneke.
