Donner Pass, Tunnel 41 AKA the "Big Hole" and is 10,325 feet long. It was opened with the completion of track two in 1925 by the Southern Pacific Railroad. It is now owned and operated by the UPRR.

  • Oops, it looks like the true, original tunnel is several hundred feet to the north. THIS tunnel looks far too big to have been practical 140 years ago,
