The Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is the on-campus home of The University of Oklahoma Sooners football team. The field is named after coach Bennie Owen, and the stadium was renamed for the Gaylord family in 2002.

The first game on the stadium site was played in 1923. 16,000 permanent seats were added to the west side in 1925. In 1929, 16,000 seats were added to the east side, expanding the capacity to 32,000. In 1949, the north end of the stadium was enclosed with the addition of a north stand, expanding the capacity to 55,000. A bleacher stand was added to the south in 1957, raising the capacity to 61,836. In 1975, the west upper deck, with a press box, was added, raising the capacity to 71,187. 9 boxes were added to the west side in 1995. From 2003 to 2004, an upper deck with 2,500 club seats and 27 luxury boxes was added, increasing the stadium's capacity to its current figure. The current capacity of the stadium is 82,112 (with 54 luxury boxes), making it the 15th largest college stadium in the United States. The current scoreboards were installed in 1997 (north) and 2008 (south). Permanent lights were installed in all four corners of the stadium in 1997.
