East Congress Street (Tucson, Arizona)

Originally named Calle de la Alegria "Street of Joy" during Tucson's Spanish period. In 1869, its name change to Congress Street, derived from Charles O. Brown's Congress Hall Saloon. In 1867, Arizona's territorial capital was moved to Tucson and Brown's saloon served as one of three meeting places for the Territorial Legislature.
