High Petergate (York)
Petergate (Peter Street) is a pedestrian-only street in York, leading from King's Square past the Minster to the walls. It has existed since the Viking times as a way out of the city. St. Peter has a lot of association with York: the Minster is dedicated to him as well as St. Peter's college. Between the Minster and King's Square it is called Low Petergate, between the Minster and the walls it is called High Petergate.
