A34
Important A-Road connecting the M3 at Winchester to the M40 near Bicester via Whitchurch, Newbury, Abingdon and Oxford. It is part of the unsigned E05 used by freight travelling from Southampton Docks to the Midlands. In the past, the road ran onwards to Birmingham and even Manchester, but this was cut off when the M40 was completed.
