N. S. Amoranto Sr. Avenue (Retiro)
More popularly known as Retiro
The street's old name Retiro came from the word retiro, meaning retreat, because it offers a place of solitude nestled atop a hill to many retreat participants. However, it really came from Jose Rizal's poem title Mi Retiro (Spanish of "My Retreat").
Now named Norberto S. Amoranto Avenue, in honor of the former Quezon City mayor who served from 1954 to 1976.
