U.S. Route 278 Business (William Hilton Parkway) (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina)
This was the original alignment of the mainline US 278 until the Cross Island Parkway opened in 1998. It could take more than an hour to traverse this road during peak tourism season, but since then the Parkway has greatly relieved congestion on this road at all times of the year.
