U.S. Route 221/460 Business/501 Business (Kemper Street) (Lynchburg, Virginia)
U.S. Route 501 Business in Lynchburg is the old route of U.S. Route 501 (a U.S. numbered highway running from South Carolina and ending in Buena Vista, Virginia). Much of it was built as a bypass of downtown Lynchburg and Rivermont in the 1930's. In the late 1980's, it was designated US-501 Business with the completion of the Lynchburg Expressway. It passes through residential areas of Lynchburg from Fairview Heights to Peakland.
