Bicycle (and some pedestrian) path (San Francisco, California)
![](https://wikimapia.org/img/wm-team-userpic.png)
The GG bridge has paths on both sides of the bridge. The west side is primarily for bicycle users. The east side is primarily for pedestrians as it has the view of the Bay and City. It is safer keeping them as separate as Practicable. Pedestrians have day-time access to the bridge and are excluded by automatic gates at night time. Bikes have toll-free access to the bridge 24 hours a day and access the bridge at night by a buzzer - security camera system.
Starting in Summer 2011 the west path is closed for rebuilding. Cyclists and walkers have to share the east side which has been marked to keep them safely(?) apart.
