Speculative route, abandoned Kodai-Munnar Tar road
This orientaion of what has become known as "The Escape Route" to trekkers in the area is based on a US Army map last revised in 1957 found at:
www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/ams/india/nc-43-08.jpg
The road has deteriorated greatly, is not maintained, but remains remarkable for the milestones still intact. Many treking routes still partially follow this road. There is some attempt to match visual clues, but the route marked is primarily just an attempt at a "pure" transposition of the above map to wikimapia data points.
