KozhencheryKozhenchery is a small town in Pathanamthitta district of Central Travancore region (South Central Kerala) in Kerala state, South India. It is a Hospital Town with the Pathanamthitta Jilla Hospital, Muthoot Hospital, Poyyanil Hospital, Children's Hospital, Mulamoottil Eye Hospital and a few others.
Kozhenchery St. Thomas College, St.Thomas Higher Secondary School. St. Mary's Girls High School, Mar Thoma Higher Secondary School and the Govt UP School are the main Educational Institutions. There is an Industrial Training Institute at Cherukole. Kozhencherry is one of the five Taluks in Pathanamthitta district. Pathanamthitta town is the capital of Kozhencherry Taluk. Maramon is a small town on the banks of Pampa River, opposite Kozhencherry town. It is home to the one of the largest of the Mar Thoma Church. The river-bed of the Pampa here witnesses the annual Maramon Convention, the largest Christian gathering in Asia. The Cherukolpuzha Hindu matha Convention is also one of the biggest Hindu Convensions in Kerala and is held every year in February at Cherukolpuzha Riverbanks (manalpuram) of holy River Pamba.Famous Arunmula Krishna temple and Arunmula boatrase also very near. Kerala Congress (Mani),CPI (M), Indian National Congress and BJP are the four main political parties in Kozhencherry. Maramon is a small town by the Pampa River, opposite to Kozhencherry town.
