Powerdale Dam (AKA Copper Dam) is a diversion dam, which is located on Hood River approximately 4.5 miles upstream of the Columbia River. Powerdale Generation facility consists of a small diversion dam (Powerdale Dam) and a reservoir .

Powerdale Dam was built during severe winter storms in late 1922 and early 1923. It began operating years before the U.S. Corps of Engineers constructed - major hydropower operations along the Columbia River.
