Grand Coulee Dam

Located on the Columbia River in the State of Washington, USA. One of the world's largest concrete structures, it is the largest hydroelectric-power-producing facility in North America.

The Columbia River is the third longest river in the United States, and one of the most powerful. Grand Coulee Dam has no fish ladders and completely blocks fish migration to the upper half of the Columbia River system.

  • The Spillway is on the north side, and Lake F.D.R. is on the south.
  • The spillway is only used when they put on the laser light show. All water goes through the new power station built on the east side. The reservoir (no lake, no river) goes all the way to Canada.
