Old snuff mill which was the birthplace of artist Gilbert Stuart. Stuart was an 18th century painter (portraits), most famous for his paintings of George Washington, including the portrait used on the U.S. one dollar bill. The original house and snuff mill is restored and the mill is in working condition. Adjacent is a restored grain mill. The site is now the Gilbert Stuart Birthplace museum.
