Formerly the Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center, also known as Camp Endicott, this was the site of a US Navy training facility for Naval Construction Battalions, or Seabees. Declared operational in 1942, Davisville became world-famous for its production of a pre-fabricated semi-circular building which would later become known as the Quonset Hut, named after Quonset Point. Quonset Huts were produced in such quantity and so widely used by US and NATO forces that today they are considered one of the most universally recognized structures in the world.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the site of the Davisville NCBC is now home to multiple tenants, which still include a SeaBee Unit and 17 original Quonset Huts.
