Bratton Castle (also known as: Bratton Camp) is the name of the hill fort above the white horse between Bratton and Westbury. In the middle is a longbarrow, suggesting people could have been using the site before the Iron Age.
Bratton Castle is reputedly the battlefield for King Alfred's victory over the Danes, with the white horse being built as a memorial, though the exact age of the horse is debatable.
It is a scheduled ancient monument, List entry Number: 1013399
