Formerly a public house, now converted to flats. From Spaniards Road it appears unchanged which is not surprising as it is a Grade II listed Coaching Inn dating from 1721. Its name derives from Jack Straw, a comrade of Wat Tyler the leader of the 1381 peasants revolt against King Richard II. It was (before conversion) the highest pub in London
