The small village of Georgetown was the islands capital in 1768-69. The british erected a fortification at the ridge between Barbados Bay and Pinfold Bay. Today nothing is left beside a tomb, dated 1772. There is also the Dry Dock Restaurant, it is housed in an old ship, „The Marquis of Granby“.
