Located on the Heathrow Branch of the Piccadilly Line, it was first opened as 'Hanwell and Brentford Road' as a small halt, but it was later rebuilt as a proper station. The first stage of the journey southbound is quiet scenic, crossing over a large bridge over a motorway, river and a railway.
