Cy-Fair High School (Cy-Fair being short for Cypress-Fairbanks) is the oldest high school (9-12) in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, having opened its doors here in 1940 after the consolidation of the Cypress and Fairbanks school districts in 1939. Today, the school is still here even as the rural Hempstead Highway became the massive Northwest Freeway. Their mascots are the Bobcats and colors are maroon and white.
