Stewiacke is a small town of about 1800 people. It is primarily a bedroom community for the town of Truro and the city of Halifax. It has its own local elementary school and a large park. It is known for the Mastodon Ridge complex including a lifesize replica statue of a mastodon, as well as for its claim that it is located halfway between the Equator and the North Pole.
