Welbeck Abbey Welbeck Abbey was the principal abbey of the Premonstratensian order in England and later the principal residence of the Dukes of Portland. The Abbey's estate was first mentioned in the Domesday Book, where it is recorded as belonging to one Hugh FitzBaldric.
