    Great place for shooting and blowings things up. Lots of great 4x4 trails. Good place to go camping and drinking. Very far away from anyone so cops won't bother you

    Well, except for the presence of a few folks who simply view the "woods" as a free-for-all playtime, the coast range in the area surrounding the peak itself is amazingly diverse. The hummingbirds alone are worthy of study if it weren't for the rare herbs, abundance of berries, herds of elk - and of course my favorite MUSHROOMS... The convergence of a wide variety of habitats, including the presence of an old growth pure Noble Fir stand, many open meadows full of wildflowers and herbs, boggy habitats with rare species and beautiful mosses, lichens, ferns, fungi...produces an overall effect of intoxication. That is, if it weren't for all the volleys of aimlessly spent rounds and the preponderance of clearcutting on private lands scattered throughout..... worth it. a rare glimpse at the previous state of our coastal forest. #heart# chickenofthewoods at yah[.....]oo.com
