The Kentucky State Capitol building, with the Governor's Mansion and Annex next to it.
The Capitol is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. The exterior is Indiana limestone and the base is Vermont granite. The building is surrounded by 70 Ionic columns. The dome is copied from the Hotel des Invalides over Napoleon Bonaparte's tomb. The stairs resemble those from the Paris Opera House and the State Reception Room is a copy of Marie Antoinette's drawing from Versailles.
