Chittur is a small town in Palakkad district of Kerala, South India. It is located at a distance of around 15km towards south of Palakkad town. Chittur is a residential town blessed with its natural beauty of Paddy fields and coconut trees. The town has many good educational institutions. Some of them are a) Govt Arts and Science College b) Vijayamatha English Medium High School c) Govt Higher secondary Boys High School d) Victoria Girls High School The town has a state transport corporation's (KSRTC) sub-depot. Buses ply to various towns of Kerala and Tamilnadu from this bus stand. There are many temples in this place. ChitturKavu is the most famous one. A festival called konganpada is very popular in Palakkad district. Considering the accessibility, educational institutions and other infrastructure it's an ideal residential place..

  • Located in Palakkad District of Kerala, Chittur is 15 km southeast of Palakkad. The town is famous for the Kongappa festival, celebrated every year on the first Monday after the dark lunar night in the month of Kumbham (February and March). Tunchath Acharyamadom is located here and is believed to have been founded by Tunchath Ramanujan Ezhuthassan, the father of Malayalam literature.
