Officially known as Saint Michael's Landfill, or The Levittown Dump, most Levittowners referred to it as "Saint Mike's Dump" or simply "The Dump".

Ask any student who attended St. Michael the Archangel School from 1960 to 1975, and they'll almost gleefully describe for you what sort of "heavenly" aromas wafted from that dump (and into their classrooms) during the warmer months.

Follow the link below to read the government study regarding PCBs and toxic runoff from St. Mike's Dump and into nearby Levittown Lake. Just be sure to remember what you've read whenever your friends ask you to join them in fishing Levittown Lake on opening day of trout season.
