Forestation remains of the great Scald Wood of Blanchardstown. It once covered a vast area of Dublin 15 and contained many wolves but following the Anglo Norman invasion and subsequent centuries it was cut down and the wolves were hunted down, but a few fragments of the wood still remain such as this.
