Air disaster in October 1972. From an initial payload of 41 passengers and 4 crew, sixteen survivors were rescued more than two
months later after two survivors walked west to Los Maitenes, Chile. Chronicled in the books "Alive" and "Miracle in the Andes."

  • my condolences to those who lost loved ones in the crash, i just got done reading "Miracle in the Andes" and there are no words for the ordeal that all this kids went thru, it amazes me the courage and the state of mind of a human being in order to survive.
