The Mahatma Gandhi University College of Engineering, Thodupuzha managed and run by the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam is the first of its kind in the state of Kerala. The college started functioning in 1996, several batches of students have passed out till date. The college campus is located in a picturesque place spread over 25 acres of land at Muttom, 7 km from Thodupuzha, by the side of State Highway No 33. Within a short span of time, the institute has offered high quality technical education, producing engineers with a knowledge and skill fulfilling the needs of industry and Research & Development organizations.

Advanced and Xtreme Technologies (AXtec), was founded on May 1st 2006, by a group of seven eminent professional students of University College of Engineering Thodupuzha, Kerala with a motto " To bridge the technology gap in society " and to provide support and explore new avenues in IT industry.
