shipyard, production
Founded in 1977 as a commercial shipyard for local fishing boats in Woolwich, ME, Washburn & Dougthy has steadily grown its reputation as a solid small and medium sized commercial shipbuilder over the last 30 years. After moving to its current location in 1984 the yard expanded its facilities and began construction of larger and more complex vessels ranging from schooners to tugs to ferries.
After an on-site fire all but destroyed the yard in June 2008, Washburn & Dougthy has begun rebuilding their facilities as a modern shipyard, built to handle construction of modern tugs and passenger craft.
