The Little Rann of Kachchh extends north-east from the Gulf of Kachchh and occupies about 2,000 miles² (5,100 km²) in Gujarāt state.
The Little Rann of Kutch, where the last of three species of Asiatic Wild Ass (Equus hemionus khur or khar), the only ones in Asia, still exists along with wolves, foxes, jackals, chinkara gazelles, nilgai antelope and blackbucks.
This is also a paradise for birders. A variety of birds, especially raptors like eagles, harriers, vultures. can be sighted.
