Established in 1930 as the Venetian Villa when this area was a civilian shipyard, it was later turned into the Petty Officers club when the US Navy occupied the land. When the naval shipyard closed in 1974, the building was sold and reopened as Dago Mary's. It was closed again in 2007 and has since been demolished, but it is due to re-open elsewhere after the Point has been redeveloped. This piece of San Francisco dining history will, of course, be replaced with gentrified crap.
