museum, bank, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, Federal style (architecture), monetary museum, 1810s construction

This museum tells the story of 200 years of banking in America in the oldest building still being used as a bank today. It tells about the boom and bust days all throughout American history. The good news is admission is FREE, but the rub is, its hours coincide with the present-day banks so it is closed Sundays and bank holidays.

The Federal-style building was constructed in 1819 as the Farmers Bank of Fredericksburg. Also known as The National Bank of Fredericksburg, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
