Mudigundam is located 3 Km south-west of Kollegal. 'Devii Mullachamma" has been worshipped as the goddess of this town. The village festival, "Mari-Habba" was very famous festival celebrated (for a about a week) until 1980s. " Haladige maduthiddhi Thayi Mullachamma Kondakke baruvaga naaneddhu noduthiddi" was very famous lyrics used to sung by Harikathe Vidhwan Sri Venugopal. The second major festival was "Yughadhi". People here say that "Mullachammanthaha devaru mathondhilla - Mudigunda-ddaliro kereyanthe(lake) berellu ella". People in this town are very nice and help each other.
