Samuel Colt's Estate. The house was listed on its own on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) until the creation of the Coltsville Historic District, of which it now makes up a contributing part. The house was built in 1856 as the family home of Samuel Colt. Today the estate functions as a retirement home for women, a purpose stipulated by Samuel's widow Elizabeth H. Colt.
