Long Island, known as Pono to its inhabitants, and Arop to New Guinea mainlanders, is a volcanic island in Madang province, Papua New Guinea. Two stratovolcanoes are located on the island: Mount Reaumur and Cerisy Peak. Between them is Lake Wisdom, which fills a caldera. The last major volcanic eruption was about 300 years ago. The island rises to 1,280 metres and has an area of 328 km².
