Mussau, in the New Ireland Province of Papua new Guinea, is the largest island in the St Matthias Group (414 km²), and the northernmost island in Papua New Guinea. It's highest point is 615m above sea-level. A number of smaller adjacent islands (Elouera, Emananus and others) are part of the Mussau subgroup.
