The Vivekanand Bridge is a major landmark structure in the city of Ahmedabad, as well as an artery of public transport across the river Sabarmati. Constructed in the 1870, the original bridge constructed by British engineers was narrow and not suited for motorized traffic. Modern extensions have been constructed on either side of the original bridge to support heavy traffic, and the original bridge is preserved as a landmark. The bridge has been renamed as Swami Vivekananda bridge but is still known to people by its old name.(It has a new name now so let's go by the new name. If you don't use the new name how you going to get used to it.)
Out of all bridges behind only this bridge we have dedicated Pin code and area name call Ellisbrige area.
