The first stage of Tutt Library was built in 1962.
It was named for Charles Leaming Tutt II, whose statue stands just outside the front entrance.
It's also home to the writing center.
Charles Tutt II was the son of Cripple Creek gold mining magnate Charles Leaming Tutt Sr., after whom the Tutt Alumni House was named, and father of Russell Thayer Tutt II (Sr.), after whom the Russell T. Tutt Science Center was named. He was a trustee of Colorado College.
