  This gun club did a cleanup of the ravine area where all the broken clay birds and lead birdshot landed for many many years of trap shooting. One person told me that parts of the ravine area was calf-leg deep with broken clay birds and birdshot. The cleanup effort netted nearly 100 TONS of lead birdshot, placed into 55 gallon barrels, and placed up for sale. Now, you do the math: the shotgun loads for trap shooting averages around one ounce per shotshell, and nearly 100 tons of lead birdshot was recovered. THAT'S A LOT OF ROUNDS FIRED!
