Built in 1932, serves the main crossing point for the green river gorge, some 190 feet deep here. In June 2008, King county deemed the bridge unsafe due to the south end of the bridge having been built upon a slow-moving landslide. For several years the soil under the northbound lane has been sloughing away. DOT crews are working to stabilize or at least slow down the landslide until a more permanent solution can be found.
UPdate: WSDOT closed the bridge in Nov. 2008 due to worries about instability. No date for re-opening is given, but it is estimated 6 months.
