A private, independent, coeducational, liberal arts college with approximately 2,500 undergraduate students. Founded as Villa Julie Secretarial School in 1947 by the Roman-Catholic order of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, it was named after the order's founder, Saint Julie Billiart. The property it stands on was formerly known as Seven Oaks, the estate of George Carrell Jenkins. While originally a Catholic-run two-year women's junior college, it is now coeducational, nonsectarian, and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
