Founded some 700 years ago by Saint Vishwambhar Maharaj, originally a resident of Tuljapur in Maharashtra. It is said that he performed meditation here and the godess Tulja Bhavani appeared to him in a dream and asked him to search for her in the nearby pond (now named Mansarovar) . The idol of the godess was found there and it was installed in the temple.
Shri Swami Narayan Bhagwan is said to have visited the temple some 200 years ago.
