Originally Jefferson Park, later West Side Park, later Borman Square Park. According to the official City of Gary comprehensive plan, "Borman Park is located within the downtown area four blocks west of Broadway between 7th and 8th Avenues. It is a well maintained park within the City featuring a diverse topography with large rolling hills and flatter areas of open lawn. The park has paved walking paths, basketball and tennis courts, a pavilion, playground, and pool. Mature trees are scattered throughout the park providing shade." The park is 8.6 acres in area. Formerly the water tower of Jefferson Park was a significant landmark on Gary's skyline.
