The Groebe villa is a two-story neo-Renaissance villa in Havlicek Gardens, located in the Vinohrady (vineyard) district of Praha 2. It is surrounded by vineyards which are still in production today and were originally founded by Charles IV in the 14th century.

The villa was built in 1871-1888 as the summer residence for noted Jewish industrialist Moritz Groebe and designed by Anthony Barvitia. Upon Groebe’s death in 1891, the property was regularly frequented by various members of the Habsburg dynasty.

During WWII under Nazi occupation, the property was used as the headquarters of the Hitler Youth. The villa and the surrounding land was targeted by US Army Air Forces during the February 14, 1945 bombing of Prague and sustained considerable damage.

Today, the majority of the property remains open to the public.
