Hi there! Greetings from Ireland! Browsing thru images of ipoh, my beloved birthtown, and stumbled upon this page! Needless to say it brought back a flood of pleasant memories of the good old days between 1973 - 1977, around which time mr T.Ram retired and was ably succeeded by mr P.Subramaniam. And who can forget the scary mr Brian Fernando, the no-nonsense discipline master! Anyway, its been great to have had the opportunity to say a few words, and would like to wish my old alma mater every success and may you continue to grow from strength to strength!

My name is Wong Yoon Hoi. I live in Texas. I was in ACS from 1955-1965. I was the x-country champion in 1965. I started a reunion dinner for '65 class in 1978 and met every year during the Chinese New Year. I am proud to say that the dinner is still going on. Chooi Choong Yin supported by Looi Teik Onn, Chow Tuck Wah, Lee Tong Hoi, and Wong Heng Cheong is the current organiser. For the past years we had about 20-30 old friends coming to this dinner from all over the world and I am proud to be one of them. I am very proud to be an Old Boys of this school.

I was in ACS IPOH 1952 &1953 form 4 and 5.I came from ACS Sitiawan to enable me to do science for form 5 which was not available in ACS Sitawan.Dr Ling Seng Hui and Dr Sukumaran were placed in form 4B class by principal Rev. Keselring though we had good results from ACS Sitiawan.Mr Gong was my class teacher.I lived in Horley Hall Hostel and by a strange coincidence Dr Ling Seng Hui and DR.Sukumaran were promoted to form 5A in 1953 and both of us qualifed as medical doctors. Most of the students became professionals and the whole class completed the external senior cambridge school leaving certificate.I wish to thank all the great highly dedicated teachers and highly motivated and ambitious students with whom I completed form 5 in 1953.I lived with Brian Fernando and Loh Heng Kee in Horley Hall whose kindness I cherish. I remember Barrister Hector Sankey.David welch and Velayuthan Nair whom I meet after I qualified as medical doctor.I wish to thank great teachers like Mr. Gong,Mr Teerath Ram.Mr Daniel, Mr Loh Chooi Beng and Mr Nagara to mention a few.I remember principal Rev. Snead who passed away tragically in a plane crash in 1953.It is a pity I did not come to know intimately many of my classmates in 1952 and 1953 as I was forever struggling to cope up with class work and time jusy flew away so fast.I was privileged to come in close contact with so many school- mates after I qualified as a medical doctor.I shall be pleased if any one can send me a copy of form 5A 1953 class photo.I shall write in detail someday of my two good years in ACS Ipoh in 1952 and 1953-with kind regards-SukumaranDR

  • Foong Yue Kee (guest)
Foong Yue Kee - I was a student for my whole life in ACS Ipoh, from 1959 till 1969. Honestly I hated school during my days but I now find that school is something I really missed and cherish especially when we compare of what that is happening in the current school system mooted by our government. Honestly I feel privy ledged having attended a school like ACS Ipoh.
  • manjit Singh Grewal (guest)
Hi I am Manjit Singh and was a student of ACS primary from 1958 to 191963 and then of ASC Secondary from 1964 right up to upper sixth in 1970. I would love to contact teachers /classmates of that time. My contact is msgrewal2000@yahoo.com. I retired from Singapore Airlines in early 2013 and we had quite a few SIA chaps from ACS eg Stanley Kuppusamy, Alex de Silva, Tan Chik Quee. and reminiscing of the old school days and of teachers did feel us with positive emotions. Alas if only we could meet again....one big toast for all the teachers and friends that made us men from boys. Have a great 2015 Cheers manjit
  • LAI KAR SEI (guest)
