Sekolah ini merupakan sekolah menengah agama berasrama penuh kelolaan kerajaan negeri Perak dan yang pertama seumpamanya di Malaysia. Telah didirikan semenjak 1959.

  • well...are u an alumni of the school. i guess u r not..coz the school's real name is Sekolah Izzuddin Shah
  • I agree with psycho (t think i know him...). Since this school is build in 1959 (lol...my school is going to be 50 next year), and the government policies that time did not clearly differentiate the name between primary and secondary schools, thus the schools build that time did not state either they were primary or secondary. This included Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Sekolah Alam Shah, Sekolah Seri Puteri, Sekolah Dato Abdul Razak and of course my beloved school, Sekolah Izzuddin Shah. In fact, my school is the first religion fully boarding school ever in the country. Even the prestigious Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah (KISAS) was not a secondary religion fully boarding school at that time (it was known as Kolej Islam Kelang and was a college for Islamic Studies especially those who wanted to pursue studies in Al-Azhar, Egypt).
