The Sheds of Gamboa is a historical site located in the same place where was located the old freight trains station of Marítima, a former branch of Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil, to the port of Rio de Janeiro.
On July 20, 2011, the mayor of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, announced the restoration of warehouses in ruins south of Rua da Gamboa, within the urban Marvelous Port project, which is reshaping the entire port area of city of Rio de Janeiro (Porto Maravilha). They went through a restoration process between 2012 and 2014
