  All Internet sources point to this lake as being the only natural lake in all of Wayne county but in looking at a plat map from 1876 it seem much more likely that it is really Curtis Lake just to the north (1/4 mile) that is the natural lake. In fact Curtis lake flows into Silver Springs Lake via a river so it seems even more likely that Curtis Lake is the one.
